Bosco loves his chewies

Bosco has been here a week now and is one of the easiest fosters we ever had.
He fits in nicely with our fur crew, makes for a nice cuddle bug at night, and loves to follow us around wherever we go to keep us company.
He adores his rawhide chews and loves to carry one around to chew on, inside our out in the yard.
There's no sweeter dog for sure!!

Bosco has safely arrived

Bosco made it to our house last night---at 1 AM in the morning.
He sniffed out the backyard---doggie introductions went perfectly fine, as this boy is not pushy with other pups it seems.
I then took him to the bedroom, where he happily jumped up on the bed and snuggled right in next to me. He slept through the night without much of any interruption---cuddled up the entire time.
The next morning, Bosco was ready to inspect the backyard during daylight time.
I think it's finding his fullest approval. He's been curious about what goes on all around us, but has not been a barker boy so far.
He's got the sweetest disposition and is smiling and wagging his tail plenty. Which is wonderful, considering that he must be very confused as to what's happening to him, leaving his home of so many years.
He's fairly velcro-like in the house. Loves to follow you around and peacefully lay down and chew on a rawhide.

I love pheasants!

He got lively as a little puppy when Jeff took out the fishing pole with the pheasant wing attached.
Of course we knew that he had been hunting with his past family---so it's no surprise that he's getting all excited at the sight of a pheasant wing.
Bosco his a gorgeous looking boy. He's got incredibly soft, fine fur---almost like a puppy's.
...and a soft angel face to go with it.

Proud Wing Man

Bosco was so proud of himself when he caught that pheasant wing....
...and was fairly reluctant to give up his price.
Just as his foster fur siblings, I think wing game time will be a favorite time of day for him.
Here Bosco and Casey are looking on as Jeff is trying to retie that wing to the fishing pole.

Katie and Bosco have fun trying to chasing down that elusive wing!

Bosco at the vet office!

Ellen got to give a follow-up report on Bosco as he arrived at the vet clinic where she works:

"Well little Briar and Big Boscoe arrived at All Creatures Great andSmall within hours of each other this morning.

Now Bosco.....he is a BIG BOY at 58 pounds....Pat picked him up and said he rode wonderfully in the car, either laid down in the backseat or looked out the window. He was happy enough to be at the clinic, that is until he had to go in a cage....this he was NOT happy about. He was understandably upset that he has been brought to this strange place and put in this jail with all these other dogs who just stare at him. Why are the rest of them not complaining? Hell, he is going to scream bloody murder until his family comes back to get him. Poor Bosco, it is so much harder on the older ones, they don't understand why their world has been turned upside down. Hopefully, once he gets all his vetting and neuter done tomorrow, he can go to his new foster home and begin to settle in."

Welcome to IBR!!

Pat picked up Bosco to take him to the vet clinic to get neutered and his vaccinations. She writes:

"I picked up this so-called "Senior" today and took him to All Creatures.

This is a 4-5yr. old full of energy, love, and friendliness in a 9 yr. old body. He greeted me at the door as he had known me forever. He got all excited when his leash was put on him and knew that meant going out. He squats to pee, so no burning bushes!

His coat is in excellent condition, soft and didn't appear to shed much. His teeth are clean, doesn't appear to be alot of tartar build up. He weighs 58 pounds.

He rode in the backseat of my car with no problems. After sniffing out the window, he laid down just fine.

He has the face of Ellen's Bart or Kipp, only in a different color. He acts and looks very healthy.

He is active and not your "senior" that people will think wants to just lay around. That's NOT him. His personality is fantastic.

He will need training on the leash, I think, because he did like to pull, but that could be too, because he thought he was going for a walk possibly."

A Country Boy at Heart!

Hi, I'm Bosco. I'm an almost 9 year old country boy from Illinois. My owner got me to be his hunting companion, but he doesn't have any time for me anymore these days. A nice lady came to visit me and took some pictures of me. She says I might get to meet a nice family that will have loads of time for me.

I'm sad that I don't get more attention, but overall I'm a happy, happy boy and still get very excited when people visit me or I get to do some birding in the yard. My middle name could be 'Teddy', because I've got a cuddly Teddy Bear personality---or so they tell me.
I'm going to my foster home this weekend and I'm soooo excited. Because it will mean a new start to my life! I'll tell more later! Furry Hugs. Bosco
